Witnesses Quiet Due to 'Fear of Retaliation'

Authorities responded to a shots fired incident at Pointe Place apartments, but no one would cooperate, according to a sheriff's deputy's report.

Shots fire into the air as four men gathered in a Cartersville apartment complex drew police, but witnesses provided no clues as to the men's identities due to 'fear of retaliation,' a deputy reported.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, one of four men gathered at a Dumpster at Pointe Place began firing shots from a handgun in the air, an apartment complex employee said after several residents reported the gunfire to him.

Two of the men left by car, while another went into an apartment, then left it after going upstairs, a resident told police.
