Victim: Sexual Advances Preceded Armed Robbery

Late Wednesday night a local man called police from to report he had been robbed in his Gilreath Road apartment.

The 38-year-old said he heard people talking outside and tried to befriend two men and a woman, who later asked if they could enter his apartment, according to the .

When he allowed them in, the woman, who had made sexual advances toward the victim, pulled a gun and demanded his cash and cell phone.

'This Is the Kiss of Death'

A South Carolina man said his niece's estranged husband, who was intoxicated, attacked him Monday for no reason, striking, pushing and choking him at a Wilderness Camp Road home in White.

Robert George Henderson Jr., 44, of Cartersville, "kissed me on the mouth" and "said, 'This is the kiss of death,'" the victim said, according to the report.

The alleged victim, 66, who deputies reported had visible injuries, was being treated Tuesday in the emergency room at .

Henderson was arrested and charged with battery, a misdemeanor.

Man, Drunk, Arrested in Jail Lobby

An intoxicated man Monday was arrested in the lobby of Cartersville's jail, but he couldn't say how he got there, according to the BCSO incident report.

Jail officers say Raymond Seth Harris, 50, of Cartersville, approached the window, smelled of alcohol and stumbled to the bathroom, where a deputy found him unable to stand and requested his ID. Harris allegedly handed over his debit card.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and said he didn't know how he got to the jail.

Bartow Couple Jailed Attempting Bond for Inmate

Last week, a Bartow County man and woman trying to post bond for an inmate were themselves jailed following an incident in the lobby that ended in the parking lot.

Matthew Daniel Sparks, 20, of Rydal, and Courney Diona Altizer, 18, of Cartersville, were arrested last Friday after Sparks allegedly became irate, used profanities and argued with jail staff after he had been asked to leave, according to the report.

"Shut up and listen to me," Sparks allegedly said to a deputy.

The officer refused to explain bonding procedures to Sparks, who had received the information in a previous phone call, the report said. Sparks allegedly refused to exit his car in the parking lot and Altizer allegedly screamed at and advanced toward officers following Sparks' arrest.

"This is my [expletive] car, and I will do as I please," Sparks allegedly said.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction. Altizer faces a disorderly conduct charge.

Trio Uses Waiting Cab in Office Equipment Theft

Walmart's surveillance system captured two women and a man stealing more than $1,000 in office equipment about 8:30 p.m. on July 27, according to the BCSO report.

The trio left the Electronics department, walked out the front door and placed it in a waiting cab. Five days later, a loss prevention officer reported the theft to local authorities.
