Wanted Man Gets Warrant Served, Plus Drug, Weapon Charges

Cartersville man, 21, was wanted on a probation warrant.

A Cartersville man with an outstanding warrant against him is facing several new charges, including possession of methamphetamine and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

Calvin Grady Cross, 21, of Cartersville was sitting in a Dodge Caravan at a gas station on Cassville Road around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, when a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputy recognized him as a man wanted for probation violations.

Cross was arrested for the probation warrant and hand-cuffed, while deputies searched the vehicle, according to the incident report.

Deputies found 10 baggies of suspected meth, a digital scale, eight needles and a .357 revolver with seven hollow-point rounds in the cylinder, according to the incident report.

Cross also was charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and probation violation.

He is being held without bond in the Bartow County jail.
