Victims, Deputies Recognize Alleged Armed Robber Who Attemps Taxi Cab Getaway

Eric Baugh, 56, of Mac Johnson Road in Cartersville, a former Bartow County jail trustee, was arrested and charged in connection with the Saturday night incident at Country Corner in Cartersville.

An armed robbery suspect who allegedly attempted a taxi cab getaway was recognized not only by the store owner who said the man frequently bought lottery tickets there, but also by Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies.

Deputies looking for Baugh, who left the store on foot, according to the owners, later spotted a Bartow Cab taxi parked nearby. Caller ID revealed Baugh had requested the cab, according to authorities.
