Two in Homeless Trio Stabbed

The injured men were taken to the hospital for treatment while a third was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Two homeless men living at a campsite off Interstate 75 were stabbed by a third indigent, investigators in Cartersville said.

A deputy on patrol Wednesday about 7:30 p.m. spotted Acworth police with two men near Glade Road and I-75, stopped to provide assistance and was told the duo had been stabbed by another man.

Investigators determined the three were in an altercation at the campsite in the wood line near Glade Road, exit 278. While the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment, they said Paul Edward Rose, 50, committed the stabbings and fled the scene.

Following a "lookout" to surrounding law enforcement agencies, Acworth police found Rose at a Glade Road gas station, and an investigator placed him under arrest.

Rose is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
