Turkeys, Steaks Stolen from Food Pantry

Printers and frozen food were among the items taken during a church-related burglary authorities are investigating.

Harvest House at 165 Old Tennessee Highway in Cartersville distributes food to the needy on Thursdays and is staffed by volunteers who each week bag and carry groceries and greet and pray for visitors, according to the church's website.

A church representative told deputies someone forced his way into the building by removing a window air conditioning unit and took five frozen turkeys, 40 frozen steaks, 10 boxes of beef patties at 2 pounds each, and three printers.

Anyone who may have information on the break-in or the whereabouts of stolen property is asked to call the agency's Criminal Investigations Division at 770-382-5050, extension 6029.
