Teens Suspected in Thefts of 14 Guns

Investigators charged four 16-year-old boys in two cases involving home and auto burglaries and the alleged thefts of firearms, CDs and cash.

A traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of a stolen firearm has led to the arrests of four Bartow County teens, according to a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Investigators arrested four 16-year-old boys in connection with two cases after authorities recovered stolen guns and ammunition, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in the release.

A pistol found Feb. 16 when a patrol deputy conducted a traffic stop was traced back to a Highway 140 incident, which led investigators to recover other stolen firearms. Charges relate to the alleged Feb. 11 burglary of an outbuilding on Pine Log Road and suspected Feb. 12 auto burglaries in a Highway 140 driveway near Rydal. While 12 guns were reported stolen from the outbuilding, two additional pistols, cash and CD's were taken from three vehicles in the later incident, according to authorities.
