Teen Charged with Kidnapping, Rape in Alleged Assaults

Bartow County Sheriff's Office authorities arrested a 15-year-old Cartersville boy in connection with what they call several serious offenses.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a release investigators Sunday arrested Sherron Tyree Burrell, who has been charged as an adult in connection with several recently reported assaults.

He faces rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated assault and burglary charges in connection with a July 12 incident in Bartow County involving a 19-year-old alleged victim.  

Burrell also has been charged as an adult in connection with a July 13 incident involving a 32-year-old female alleged victim. In connection with the incident, he faces additional charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery..

Burrell is being held without bond at a regional youth detention facility, where he is awaiting a Superior Court hearing in Bartow County.

Authorities say no photo of Burrell is being released at this time due to ongoing investigations that could lead to more charges.
