Taylorsville Man Arrested in Burglary, Theft Case

Cassidy Cam Cowart, 24, is facing charges in relation to accusations that he burglarized a home in Cartersville.

A Taylorsville man has been charged in connection with the theft and burglary of a home in Cartersville.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office has charged Cassidy Cam Cowart, 24, with one count of burglary in the first degree, one count of misdemeanor theft by taking and one count of misdemeanor theft by deception. 

He's currently held at the Bartow County Jail with a $10,000 bond. He's also being held on probation violation charges.

Investigators believe Cowart between March 5 and March 19 went to a home on Katie Ridge in Cartersville, "made unauthorized entry" and took items of value inside, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Some of the items taken from the house were later sold at a local recycling center between the aforementioned dates. 

Some of the items were eventually recovered by investigators at the recycling center and others had already been recycled.
