'Should Have Killed You'

An open 911 line led to a Canton man's arrest after he allegedly obstructed authorities in Cartersville.

A Canton man was arrested in Cartersville after dispatchers heard someone say "should have killed you" on an open 911 line.

deputies Monday responded about 2 p.m. to , where a couple reportedly was involved in a domestic dispute, although the woman denied any fight. They say the 911 call came from her boyfriend's mobile phone.

He's been identified as Matthew Lee Ellis, 18.

Authorities say Ellis resisted their attempts to restrain him in the restaurant parking lot. He allegedly struggled to free himself and fought with police, who eventually Tased him.

A police officer and Ellis were scuffed up in the incident.

Ellis was arrested and charged with felony obstruction of officers and criminal interference with government property.
