Sheriff's Office Makes Theft, Burglary Arrests

Bartow County authorities say they charged three people in two unrelated cases.

Investigators today arrested a Cartersville man in connection with taking items from a residence.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Investigators charged Jason Brent Martin, 35, of 410 Greenridge Road. Martin allegedly had been going to 198 Lead Mountain Road wanting to do some work at the location.

Between April 18 and May 2, the owner noticed some of her belongings missing, and apparently had found some of her property at the residence where Martin was living.

In the second case, two Cartersville men were arrested and charged in connection with their alleged involvement in five burglaries around Bartow County.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, patrol deputies stopped two men in a Volvo station wagon on Highway 41 near Gentilly Boulevard after a lookout had been given that the pair had just attempted a burglary on Vaughn Road.

Deputies arrested Dustin Yockachonis, 23, and William Henderson, 25, both of Cartersville, at the scene of the traffic stop because they were allegedly in possession of stolen property and were identified as the pair who attempted to burglarize the Vaughn Road home.

Millsap said investigators picked up the case and followed up on information revealed in the traffic stop and interviews that led them to believe the pair to be involved in more burglaries.

Investigators tied the two men to five burglaries in the past two months in which more than a combined $80,000 worth of valuables and jewelry were stolen and have since recovered more than $10,000 of alleged stolen property.

Henderson and Yockachonis are each being held in the Bartow County jail on $43,500 bond. The charges are criminal trespass, theft by receiving stolen property and five counts of burglary.

Yockachonis is also being held on probation violation.

More people may be involved in these and other cases and the investigation continues.
