Report: Pregnant Woman Robbed Alongside Bartow Road

The following information was supplied in an incident report from the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery of a pregnant woman that occurred on May 30 along McCormick Road.

According to an incident report from the agency, a woman told officers she was on her way home from work late Friday evening when she heard a loud noise from her vehicle, which sounded like she hit something in the road.

The woman said she pulled over on McCormick Road to see if she had any damage to her vehicle. At that time, she saw a small red car pull up behind her and a younger man get out of the car from the passenger side.

The woman, who is four month pregnant, said the man, who was holding a knife in his right hand, approached her and asked "what do you have?", according to the report.

The complainant told the man she had some money from work, and the suspect "demanded" she give him the money.

According to the report, the woman said she was "scared so she just handed the wallet" to the suspect. The suspect got back into the car and the vehicle drove away.

The knife was reportedly 6 to 8 inches, with a silver blade and black handle. While the woman was not able to get a description of the driver, she was able to provide one of the man who allegedly robbed her.

The suspect is described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old, about 5'8 inches and weighs around 140 pounds. The woman told authorities she believes the suspect was wearing a white do-rag, blue jeans and light-colored shirt, which could possibly have been a tank-top because she remembered seeing his muscles, the report states.

The vehicle is described as a red, older model four-door passenger car, which possibly had something dragging under its carriage.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (770) 382-5050.
