Police: Shoplifter Punched Female Employee In Face Before Fleeing

The man, who is accused of shoplifting at a Cartersville Walmart on Friday, July 11, fled on foot after he was confronted by store personnel.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to identify and track down a suspected shoplifter who allegedly battering a store employee before taking off on foot.

The agency is investigating a case of shoplifting reported at Walmart located off Highway 20 in Cartersville on Friday, July 11.

According to the agency's Facebook page, the suspect allegedly "concealed several items" and when confronted by Walmart personnel, he "punched a female employee in the face and ran on foot."

After reviewing surveillance video from the big box retailer, it appeared suspect first arrived at the retailer as a passenger of a silver vehicle. The car was no longer on the scene during the report. 

Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigations Division at 770-382-5050 ext. 6029.
