Pair Plead Guilty, Get Prison Time in Law Office Robbery

The two were seen by several witnesses when their get-away car wouldn't start following the May 2012 incident in downtown Cartersville.

Two armed robbers seen by several witnesses when their get-away car wouldn't start are set to spend years in prison in connection with the May 18, 2012, incident at the Kelley Law Firm.

Raymond Anthony Montgomery, 23, of Cartersville, was arrested shortly after the armed robbery in downtown Cartersville, which happened about 11:20 a.m. Developer and businessman John Lewis was beaten with a pistol in his office during what police at the time called a bold and violent act.

Deric Christopher Williams, also 23 years old and of Cartersville, turned himself in at the Bartow County jail seven days later. By that time, Cartersville police investigators had identified him as the second suspect, who was able to elude authorities on foot.
