Woman Stabbed to Death in Gwinnett Home - Lawrenceville Patch

A woman was reportedly killed in her home outside the Lawrenceville city limits late Wednesday night. At about 10:45pm, Gwinnett County Police were called to a home at 1403 Alamein Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville. When they arrived, officers found a woman dead from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was identified as 64-year-old Parviz Moledina.

According to police, Moledina lived alone. GCPD Cpl. Jake Smith said the woman's car, a silver 2007 Volvo station wagon, was missing from the home.

Alorica to Recruit 90 Seasonal Workers in Cobb - South Cobb Patch

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Alorica recruit about 90 seasonal workers for a call center in Kennesaw.

A recruitment of customer service representatives will be held Monday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta. See South Cobb Patch for more details.

Fundraiser Planned for Holly Springs Couple Injured in Train Accident - Holly Spring Patch

Friends are planning an event to raise money for a Holly Springs couple Shane and Meg Ladner who were hurt in a train accident earlier this month. Two sets of pancake breakfasts will be held at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at Longhorn Steakhouse at 2700 Town Center Drive in Kennesaw, according to 11 Alive.

The Ladners on Monday flew back to Atlanta from Midland, Texas, where they were recovering from injuries sustained when a train collided with the parade float they were riding in during the annual "Hunt for Heroes" event coordinated by Show of Support. Big Lottery Win for Powder Springs Railroad Worker - West Cobb Patch

A Georgia Lottery win just before Thanksgiving is set to brighten the holidays for a railroad signal operator from Powder Springs.

According to a news release, Philip Solages, 43, matched all five numbers from the Nov. 19 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $682,144 jackpot.

Solages claimed his prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta. He had purchased his Quik Pik ticket at Team Texaco II, located at 3265 Florence Road in Powder Springs. See West Cobb Patch for more on this story.
