Lake Lanier Search for Missing Man - Cumming Patch
A multiagency search of Lake Lanier and surrounding shorelines is underway for a 47-year-old man missing in what appears to be a single boat accident, according to officials with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
At about 9:48 p.m. Monday, DNR was called to investigate an unmanned 15-foot jon boat that was circling an area of the lake near Bald Ridge Creek at big rock. When authorities arrived they found the boat on a bank and out of gas. See Cumming Patch for more on this story.
Stone Mountain Police Officer Charged in Corruption Case - Stone Mountain Patch
A Stone Mountain police officer has been charged in a corruption case involving law enforcement personnel from other agencies throughout metro Atlanta.
United States Attorney Sally Yates announced the arrests during a Tuesday news conference, according to CBS Atlanta News.
Besides the Stone Mountain officer, Yates said two DeKalb County officers, two Forest Park officers, one Atlanta police officer, one MARTA officer and one contracted Federal Protection worker have been arrested. See Stone Mountain Patch for more on this story.

The FBI and Alpharetta police are asking for the public's help to find a man responsible for the armed robbery of the BB&T Branch on North Point Parkway on Monday.
A lone black male entered the branch at 5690 North Point Parkway at approximately 9:53 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, and announced a robbery. According to an FBI blog, the robber placed a handgun onto the teller counter. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank without further incident. Freedom for Kennesaw Man Convicted of Murder - Kennesaw Patch
His case pending before the state's highest court, the same court that in 2008 upheld his murder conviction, former Kennesaw resident John McNeil on Tuesday pleaded guilty to a lesser crime of manslaughter to end his years-long legal fight.
McNeil was sentenced to seven years in prison and 13 years probation on the manslaughter charge, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was credited with seven years time served and was expected to be released immediately, according to the AJC. Read more about this story on Kennesaw Patch.

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 220 years in prison for the rape and child molestation of a 3-year-old girl.
Johns Creek Police Detective B.K. Lyles led the initial investigation into the incidents, which occurred in July 2011.
Jason Jerome Hambrick was convicted in a jury trial that ended Friday, Feb. 8, according to Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. Hambrick was also charged with cruelty to children in the first degree in connection with his sex crimes against a 3-year-old child in his care.
