Cumming Man Found Murdered in His Deer Processing Business - Cumming Patch

A 60-year-old Cumming man was found murdered Sunday night in his deer processing business in Hancock County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The body of Nelson Garner was found by a relative around 9:30 p.m. at Garner’s Grinder located at 18630 Highway 16 in Sparta, Ga. (the business is located about 137 miles from Cumming, between Atlanta and Augusta). Visit Cumming Patch for more on this story.

Aaron's Founder R. Charles Loudermilk Sued by Federal Regulators - Buckhead Patch 

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. sued R. Charles Loudermilk, founder of Aaron's furniture rental company, because of $21.8 million of bad real estate loans made by the failed Buckhead Community Bank, according to Businessweek.

Woman Gets 12 Years For Running Over Ex - Douglasville Patch

A Hiram woman will serve 12 years in prison after news of a break-up drove her to run over an ex-boyfriend with a SUV, according to District Attorney David McDade.

Vanessa Marie Garrett-Rogers, 28, received a 30-year sentence from Chief Superior Court Judge Robert J. James after entering a guilty plea to charges of Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault and Leaving the Scene of an Accident on Monday. Visit Douglasville Patch for more on this story.

Store Cameras Capture Van Crashing Into Chandlee Jewelers (Video) - Oconee Patch

Fortunately the shop was relatively empty and no one was seriously injured when a van drove through the storefront of Chandlee Jewelers around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2012.

One customer, a 63-year-old Athens woman who had been seated near the front of the store, was thrown about 15 feet from her chair.  She was treated and later released from an area hospital.

The driver, 63, from Winterville, told authorities an object rolled from beneath her seat and obstructed the Honda Odyssey's pedals.  A CO2 cylinder was found in the front seat, according to a Georgia State Patrol trooper, who said the driver does not face criminal charges.
