Armed Robbery at Austell Waffle House — South Cobb Patch

Cobb police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday evening at the Waffle House on Six Flags Drive near Riverside Parkway in Austell.

According to investigators, two men entered the restaurant wearing masks, and one was armed with a handgun. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, fled the business, and entered a vehicle driven by a third suspect who's a female.

Teen Arrested After Injuring Step-Father at Church — Cumming Patch

A teenager is sitting in jail after allegedly injuring his stepfather with a knife at church Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Christian Alexander Guerndt, 17, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

The incident happened in between services at Mercy Fellowship Church located at the intersection of Tolbert and Dogwood Streets in Cumming around 4:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi with Cumming Police. See Cumming Patch for more on this story.

Church Shooter Waives Court Hearing; Parishioners Return to Church for First Time — Cascade Patch

Floyd Palmer, suspect in the World Changers Church shooting that killed Greg McDowell, waived two court appearances last week and is said to not be talking to investigators.

Sunday, members of World Changers in East Point flooded in to show support for their fallen fellow church member, Mr. McDowell.  According to an 11Alive report, the 8,500 capacity mega-church was completely filled for this first Sunday service since the tragedy. The article quotes parishioners who say they wanted to attend because they have been praying for the families involved, and they want to show support in such a tragic situation. Chatt Tech's Acworth Campus Hosts Monster Hair Show — Acworth Patch

Monday was Chattahoochee Technical College's first Monster Hair Show with the cosmetology students at the North Metro Campus celebrating Halloween with their creations. The contest was between 14 CTC Cosmetology students at the North Metro Campus who got creative with their designs. We had everything from Minnie Mouse to snakes, hippies, and skeletons. Police Search for Female Bank Robber — Roswell Patch

Police are searching for the woman who robbed a Roswell Wells Fargo Bank on Friday.

The woman allegedly entered the bank, located at 10825 Alpharetta Highway in Roswell, and passed a note to the teller demanding money.

She is described as being between 5 foot 2 inches and 5 foot 5 inches tall, 110-120 pounds and between 30-40 years old. Police say she is right handed with manicured nails, she has long black hair, described as a weave, with blue or purple tips. Visit Roswell Patch for more on this story.
