New Classrooms, Renovations on Tap for Hamilton Crossing, White Elementary Schools

Bartow County Schools leaders approved the additions to the schools in and just outside Cartersville.

The Bartow County school board last night at its business meeting approved plans for remodeling two elementary schools in and just outside Cartersville.

"The renovations at Hamilton Crossing [and White] are to eliminate the portable classrooms at both of those schools and to help with the traffic flow at both schools," Harper said via email. "We will be adding 10 classrooms to Hamilton and 13 classrooms and a media center at White.

"Also both office areas will be improved to support the existing staff and improve the services we provide our students."

Playground, office space, parking and traffic flow—both foot and vehicle—enhancements are on tap for both schools and likely will begin while school is in session, The Daily Tribune News reports.

The projects will be funded with Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax dollars.
