Naked Man Walks Through Cartersville Neighborhood

Believed to be intoxicated, he was jailed on public indecency and public drunkeness charges.

A naked Cartersville man found crouched on his porch apparently locked himself out of his house and allegedly walked—unclothed—through his neighborhood.

A 68-year-old local man called authorities Saturday about 2:30 a.m. to report a naked man walking through his Hamil Boulevard neighborhood, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, above.

He told police he heard his dogs barking at his front door, looked out and saw standing his door a naked man, who then sat down on a chair.

Told to leave, the unclothed man fell in bushes near the sidewalk as he stood up, the homeowner said.

Deputies say they tracked the nude man, who was crouched at the front door of his Rosen Street home, holding his genitals.

Mitchell Shawn Tilley, 28, allegedly told police "Yeah, I had too many," after they asked what he was doing. "I'm at my house," he allegedly said.

Tilley, who registered .180 on an AlcoSensor, said he had been downtown drinking, took a cab home but "really (doesn't) know" if he was nude in the taxi.

He was arrested and charged with public indecency and public drunkenness.
