Man Tells Cops He Was Hit in the Head En Route To Buy Drugs

The Dalton resident had lacerations and knots on the back of his head following the incident in Cartersville.

A Dalton man called police early Thursday morning to report he had been hit in the head while on a trip to buy drugs, but declined to press charges and get medical treatment.

The man, 24, called Bartow County 911 about 3:40 a.m. Thursday and said he had been in route to Canton to buy drugs with two other men from Dalton, who now live in Madisonville, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, above.

In the area of Cass-White and Peeples Valley roads in Cartersville, the trio stopped for a bathroom break. When he got out of the Ford F-150, the man was hit in the back of the head with "something," he told deputies.

Emergency medical workers who responded to the scene said it appeared the man had been cut with a sharp object. He had two large lacerations and several big knots to the back of his head, deputies noted.

The men with whom he was riding left with his cell phone and sunglasses, the man told police. He was released to his father.
