Man Found Beaten, Robbed on Side of Road

The victim, 31, said he was attacked near Harrison and Mission roads in Cartersville by two men in a gold sedan, who left with $30.

A local man was taken to the hospital by ambulance following a Thursday night attack at Harrison and Mission roads in Cartersville.

The victim, 31, said he was walking down the road about 9:30 p.m. when two men in a gold car stopped and began beating him, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, attached. The duo kicked the victim in the face and punch him in the ribs, he said.

The men took an item from the victim's bag, possibly his wallet, which a passerby found in the grass nearby. The victim, who complained of rib-area pain and had a swollen cheek, said the robbers took $30 from the wallet. He was taken to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment, according to the report.

Deputies were dispatched to the roadside about 9:50 p.m., and the man who called 911 said he had turned onto Harrison Road and spotted a duffel bag in the middle of the road.

The victim was lying in the grass next to the road.
