Cartersville Officer Talks Down Man Threatening…

Man Charged in Alleged Punch That Broke Teen's Jaw

Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested a Cartersville man in connection with the April 23 incident at an Adairsville church.

Bartow County authorities say they've charged the man responsible for breaking a teen's jaw last month at an Adairsville church.

Sheriff's office investigators Thursday arrested Marcus Deanglo Henderson, 33, of Cartersville, on a charge of aggravated battery in connection with alleged April 23 assault, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a statement.

The 17-year-old was playing basketball in the gym of the church when he was assaulted by another player, authorities say. The teen's jaw was broken in the alleged assault and required surgery to repair the damage.

Millsap said investigators gathered information from witnesses and the gym's video surveillance footage and identified Henderson as the other player who allegedly hit the teen.

Henderson was booked into the Bartow County jail and released on bond to await further proceedings.
