One of the victims was repeatedly kicked in the face, stomach and back.

A Cobb County man arrested by Bartow County authorities in connection with an Acworth home invasion was among a trio who allegedly said they were with the water department to gain entry to the home.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release his investigators have charged Mathew Grant Wall, 24, of Wilie Lane in Powder Springs, with armed robbery, false imprisonment and aggravated assault in connection with the September incident.

The victims, a man and woman in their 20s, told police someone who said he was with the Acworth Water Department started banging on the door of the Lynn Circle mobile home shortly before 7 a.m. on Sept. 29, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, above.

One of the victims opened the door and two men forced their way inside; one pointed a gun at the victims and made them lie down on their stomachs. Another male entered and ransacked the home, according to the press release.

One victim was repeatedly kicked in the face, stomach and back. The two victims were tied up with rope and the suspects left, taking valuables from the home.

Millsap said investigators identified one of the men as Wall after further interviews and investigation. He was arrested at the Cobb County jail just before 3 a.m. Thursday morning, after Cobb authorities picked him up.

Wall is currently being held at the Bartow County jail without bond, pending a Superior Court hearing.

None of the property allegedly taken has been recovered at this time.
