Local Man Dies in Head-On Collision

The Cartersville resident was driving on the wrong side of the road, police said.

A Cartersville man reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road died as a result of the injuries he sustained last night in a crash.

’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program unit is investigating the Acworth crash that happened at 11:45 p.m. on Cobb Parkway near Dallas-Acworth Highway, officials said in a press release.

Investigators believe the driver of a red 2003 Chevrolet S-10, identfied as Brandon R. Meadors, 41, of Cartersville, was traveling south in the northbound lanes.

The truck and a maroon 2009 BMW 335i, which was going north in the northbound lanes, collided just north of the Dallas-Acworth Highway's intersection with Highway 41.

Both Meadors and the other driver, Michael L. Wilson, 24, of Acworth, were taken via ambulance to . Wilson suffered non-life threatening injuries, but Meadors died as a result of his injuries.
