'I Did It, Go Ahead and Arrest Me'

Two people were injured and one arrested as a result of an alleged domestic dispute involving a mini bat at a Cartersville motel.

A man who was involved in an alleged domestic dispute said, "I did it, go ahead and arrest me," when police arrived at a Cartersville motel to find two people bleeding.

Daniel Todd Alexander, 27, of Cartersville, faces an aggravated battery charge under the Family Violence Act for allegedly injuring a woman's face during the 2:30 p.m. Monday incident at Efficiency Lodge.

Alexander and the victim, 33, who apparently lived together at the motel, were arguing about him signing up for a dating website, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report.

The woman told deputies Alexander struck her in the face with a wooden "mini bat" before she was able to fight him off, gain control of the bat and strike him in the forehead.

Alexander said he couldn't remember if the hit the woman with his fist or the bat, according to the report, attached.

The alleged victim was taken to Cartersville Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of a fractured orbital socket and broken nose. Alexander was treated at the hospital and taken to jail.
