4 Accused of Tying Up Boy, 12, in Home Invasion

The 12-year-old suffered minor scratches and bruises in the July 12 incident.

Bartow County Sheriff's Office authorities have arrested three people and issued warrants for a fourth in what they call a July 12 home invasion.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a news release the victim, a Bartow County man, returned to his Jordan Road home that night to find his 12-year-old son duct taped inside the house and items stolen from the home.

He called 911, deputies responded and investigators began inquiries into the case. Since the investigation began, investigators have arrested two men and one woman and issued arrest warrants on another man, who has not yet been found.

Vernon Edroy Nisbett, 18; Yvonne Irene Alexander, 20; and Austin Kyle Hernandez, 18; are currently jailed without bond on robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, kidnapping, battery and first-degree cruelty to children charges.

Investigators believe Nisbett lured the homeowner away from the residence by asking for a ride to several places after 10:30 p.m. on the night of the incident, according to the press release. Items allegedly stolen included a TV, laptop, X-Box game system, a camera and accessories, collectively valued at more than $2,000.

The 12-year-old boy suffered minor scratches and bruises in the incident.  Authorities aren't releasing the identity of the fourth man wanted in connection with it.
