Updated: Police Arrest Son Shot by Dad

Cartersville police have now arrested both men involved in the Tuesday night shooting incident at 213 Dogwood Drive.

have arrested the victim of a Tuesday shooting incident, according to WBHF — AM 1450.

Colby Lang Stone, 38, of 213 Dogwood Drive in Cartersville, who was allegedly shot in the arm by his father, was questioned by investigators this morning, arrested and charged with making terroristic threats to his father during the apparent domestic dispute, the radio station reported.

Lt. Mark Camp said Jerome Ralph Stone, 61, of 213 Dogwood Drive in Cartersville, has been charged with a felony, aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act. He allegedly shot his son in the arm during a Tuesday evening domestic dispute.

Authorities say 38-year-old Colby Lang Stone, who sustained a gunshot wound during a shooting incident last night at 213 Dogwood Drive, has been released from the hospital. He was taken to Floyd Medical Center and released a few hours later.

He told his father, Jerome Ralph Stone, shot his son in the arm. Jerome Stone is currently boarded at the , but authorities have not released released the charge or charges he faces.

Jerome Stone had originally been taken to the for questioning. Authorities are expected later to release more information about the incident.

officials say a man suspected of shooting his son in the arm surrendered peacefully to authorities.

Approximately 7:20 tonight, officers responded to the report of shots fired at 213 Dogwood Drive in Cartersville. When they arrived, the adult white male said he had been shot in the arm by his father. 

The suspect in the shooting turned himself over to authorities, was taken into law enforcement custody and transported to for questioning.

The victim, who is about 36 years old, was taken to Floyd Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lt. Mark Camp.  

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the names of suspect and victim, but are expected to do so later tonight or tomorrow.
