Andruw Jones Charged With Battery in Domestic Dispute - Duluth Patch

Former Atlanta Braves centerfielder Andruw R. Jones was arrested and charged with battery in a domestic dispute that occurred between he and his wife at their home in unincorporated Duluth early Christmas morning, Gwinnett Police reported.

Gwinnett Police responded to a domestic dispute call at the Jones home about 1:25 a.m. Dec. 25. During the investigation of this call, probable cause was developed to arrest Jones for battery, according to police. See Duluth Patch for more on this story.

One-Car Accident Claims Life on Christmas Day - Duluth Patch

A young Duluth man was killed in a single-car accident during the rainy Christmas Day afternoon on Simpson Circle near its intersection with Centennial Trail in unincorprated Norcross.

Gwinnett Police identified the driver of the white Chevrolet Tahoe as Nenad Lunic, 23, of Duluth. The accident occurred about 4:15 p.m. Dec. 25 about 200 feet from Simpson Circle’s intersection with Centennial Trail. See Duluth Patch for more on this story.

Petition To Oust DeKalb School Board Gains Momentum - Brookhaven Patch

Less than two weeks after being placed on probation, the DeKalb County School Board is now the target of an online petition calling for their removal.

CBS Atlanta is reporting that the petition has already received more than 490 signatures.

On Dec. 17, the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS) placed the school board on probation until December 2013. "There is significant and irrefutable evidence that the DeKalb County School District is in a state of conflict and chaos,” said SACS Chairman Dr. Mark Elgart. East Cobb Man Wanted for Allegedly Killing Ex-Wife - East Cobb Patch

An East Cobb woman died Saturday after being attacked in her home, and Cobb Police have issued a murder warrant for her ex-husband.

Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said Donna Nations Kristofak, 48, died after being taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

John Stephen Kristofak, 58, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault, and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. See East Cobb Patch for more on this story.
