Drugs Lead Police to 'Hot' Stash

Lawnmowers, tools, tires and watches were among the hundreds of stolen items found in a Cartersville home police searched in a narcotics investigation.

A drug investigation led to a stash of hundreds of allegedly stolen items police found in a Cartersville home during the execution of a warrant, Chief Tommy Culpepper said in a press release.

Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force agents and police officers Tuesday at 6 p.m. searched the house at 27 Walker Street to try to find narcotics and stolen merchandise after agents were told the resident, Leroy Windom, 58, had traded stolen property for drugs.

In addition to two guns, police say they found drugs and hundreds of pieces of stolen property, including lawnmowers, power washers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, hand tools, tires, wheel rims, watches and other goods.

Investigators are still checking stolen property reports, but have already determined many of the items were reported stolen.
