Cartersville Teen Dies in Hall Station Road Crash

The 18-year-old woman had just graduated high school.

A Cartersville teen was killed in a Friday night crash in Adairsville, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Hilary Mariah Hobbs, 18, was wearing her seatbelt but succumb to her injuries after the 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle she was driving spun and hit a tree about 6:30 p.m. on Hall Station Road, spokesman Gordy Wright said.

Hobbs' vehicle was the only involved in the crash. She was traveling south on Hall Station when her car went off the west shoulder, re-entered the roadway, began to rotate off the west shoulder and struck a tree with its rear end, Wright added.

Wright said Hobbs died in the crash. She graduated from Cartersville High School earlier this year and was studying meteorology at Georgia Tech, according to her Facebook page.

And alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
