Cartersville Police Officer Finishes Academy with Honors

He was among 26 metro area law enforcement officers who graduated from the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy.

Twenty-six people graduated May 3 from the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy, and one of the graduates is from Cartersville.

The 10-week academy covered state laws, criminal procedures, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, search and seizure, and other law enforcement related subjects.

While Lt. Patrick Stewart with the Marietta Fire Department finished at the top of the class, top honors also went to Cartersville Police Department Jonathan Morrison.

Morrison was elected class president, according to Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren.
