An officer with the Cartersville Police Department was injured in a crash that occurred Wednesday morning.
The officer, along with two other people, were involved in a "serious vehicle accident" that took place at around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 113/West Avenue at Lee Street.
Preliminary review of the case indicates the officer was responding to an emergency call to help another officer, said Tracey Watson, spokesperson for the Georgia State Patrol.
A 1990 Cadillac Deville on Lee Street attempted to cross West Avenue/Highway 113 and pulled into the path of the police car.
Watson said the patrol car hit the Cadillac on its rear left door.
