Cartersville Man Fatally Hit By Train

A Cartersville man was hit and killed by a train while walking his dog on railroad tracks Saturday afternoon.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Donald Eugene Brock, 44, was hit by a CSX train in the vicinity of Sugar Valley Road near Cassville Road in Cartersville. 

Bartow Sheriff Clark Millsap told the newspaper the train sounded its horn several times warning Brock to get off the tracks, but the man did not respond to the signal. 

An autopsy will be conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Stay with Patch for updates.

Hmmm, sounds like suicide are he may have been deaf & blind.

Why did he not move at the sounding of the engine whistle? In any case, this sad event (and many like it) can be avoided using one simple method: Stay away from active railroad property, period! My sympathies to his family.

He wasn't suicidel and he had hearing problems. R.I.P. Hotrod u will truly be Missed. Praying for the family. This is a horribe accident..
