BOLO: Man Absconded from Jail

Bartow County Sheriff's Office authorities say work-release inmate Andre "Rico" Perkinson, 39, on Friday failed to report back to the jail.

Editor's Note: About six hours after the publication of this article, Bartow County Sheriff's Office officials reported Perkinson, "after four days on the run," turned himself over to authorities at the jail. He has been charged with escape and probation violation in connection with allegedly absconding from a work-release program, and will be held in jail pending a Superior Court appearance.

Authorities are looking for an absconded inmate they say is a known gang member with a history of armed robbery.

issued a "be on the lookout" for Andre "Rico" Perkinson, 39, a work-release inmate who allegedly failed to return to the jail on Friday. Perkinson, who has multiple tattoos on various parts of his body, is 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

The Cartersville native has served three prison terms for armed robbery and cocaine convictions, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. Perkinson was released from prison about two years ago. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should not approach Perkinson, but immediately call 911, local authorities say.
