Body ID'd as Missing Bartow Man

Authorities are awaiting the results of tests to confirm how Richard Blake Cowart, 28, of Kingston, died.

The body pulled from the Etowah River near Cartersville last week has been identified as that of Blake Cowart, who had been missing for weeks, but authorities don't know how he died.

Here's Bartow County Sheriff's Office's full release:

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office has received confirmation of positive identification of last weeks victim found in the Etowah River. The Medical Examiner's Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab has identifed the body found as Richard Blake Cowart. Cowart has been reported missing since the morning of April 4th, 2013 from his home on Hardin Bridge Road near the Etowah River. According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, no cause of death is available from the Crime Lab at this time as they are awaiting the results of tests run during autopsy. The victim was found in the river on Thursday, April 18, 2013 by fishermen in the water. Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton confirmed notification of next of kin prior to this notice being released.
