Bartow Sheriff's Office Looking For Car Thief

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help them identify a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a car outside a convenience store. 

According to a report filed with the agency on May 16, a Cartersville man parked his 2000 silver Chevrolet Malibu (with a white hood) at T&M Food Store on Highway 113 at Covered Bridge Road near Taylorsville. 

The man left his car running and went inside the store. Once in the store, he looked outside and saw a man driving off in his vehicle. 

Photos from a surveillance camera show the man arriving at the store in a white vehicle. The man is seen getting out of his car and driving off in the victim's vehicle. 

An unidentified woman drives the white vehicle away from the store. 

The stolen Malibu was last seen traveling on Highway 113 toward Polk County just after 1 p.m. May 16.

Anyone who can identify this man or the location of the stolen vehicle is asked to call the sheriff's office's Criminal Investigations Division at 770-382-5050 ext. 6030.
