Bartow County Sheriff's Office Hiring Jail Deputies

What do you think of the requirements to be a law enforcement officer at the Cartersville detention facility for men and women.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is hiring entry-level deputy sheriffs to serve in the Cartersville jail, which recently was expanded.

The job posting made public by the department lists the minimal employment criteria, which mentions drug use, and details the application and hiring process.

With peak population reaching 670 inmates, the county added on the facility—originally designed for 300 inmates—to the tune of 685 beds, for a capacity of 1,044 inmates, according to Pond Co.'s description of the construction project to build a six-story tower to house inmates.

A number of positions are reportedly open.
