Bartow County authorities say they've found the man responsible for a late-night armed robbery at a Cartersville hotel.
Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release investigators arrested an Albany man in connection with Nov. 21 incident at Hampton Inn. Michael Shane Mickler allegedly robbed the clerk at gunpoint.
Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies and investigators responded to the scene but did not locate the robber, according to the release. "Following leads discovered through other agencies, investigators believed that the robber was traveling the interstate system to avoid detection by deputies," it says.
Investigators working with other agencies, including Suwanee and Forsyth police have identified Mickler, 40, of Albany, as the robber.
He was arrested in Suwanee on Dec. 2 and is being held without bond in the Bartow County jail, pending a Superior Court bond hearing.
Authorities say Mickler "is also being sought by other agencies for possible involvement in other incidents."
