Adairsville Woman Charged With Vehicular Homicide

The Dodge pick-up truck Michele Blum was driving crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by Thankful Baptist Church Pastor Nim Russell.

An Adairsville woman has been charged in a fatal accident that took the life of a church pastor.

The Georgia State Patrol's post in Cartersville has charged Michele Blum, 41, with vehicular homicide in connection to the accident on S.R. 140 near Big Oak Tree Road close to the Floyd County line. 

Along with vehicular homicide, Blum has been charged with DUI, serious injury by vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving without headlights.

At around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck Blum was driving hit a 2007 Mercedes E350 in a head-on collision.

The crash killed Nim Bernal Russell, 55, also of Adairsville. Russell was the pastor of Rome-based Thankful Baptist Church

Julia Russell, who was a passenger in the Mercedes, Blum and Charles Louis Blum, III, a passenger in the Dodge truck, were all taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.
