Adairsville Man Faces 78 Counts of Child Pornography

An forensic analysis of computers owned by Kenneth Bryan Evans, 55, revealed 78 images of children depicted in "lewd and sexually exploitative situations."

An Adairsville man has been charged with allegedly possessing more than 70 pornographic images of children after scores of files were uncovered on his personal computer.

Kenneth Bryan Evans, 55, of Adairsville is being held at the Bartow County Jail and faces 78 counts of sexual exploitation of children, the Adairsville Police Department wrote on its Facebook page

On June 7, detectives with the agency were following up on an unattended death investigation when they executed a search warrant at a home located at 20 Dewey Drive in the city.

During their search, investigators located and seized several laptop computers in an effort to help their work on the case, interim Police Chief Arnold Gillman said. 

The computers were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit for forensic analysis.

GBI investigators found 78 images on the computers of children between the ages of 6 and 15 years old who were depicted in "lewd and sexually exploitative situations," Gillman stated.

Adairsville detectives secured arrest warrants for Evans, the resident and owner of the computers. 

"The Adairsville Police Department is committed to keeping Adairsville safe from those who would prey upon children," Gillman added.
