6 Arrested After Home Invasion

Two men used a story about a broken-down car to get inside a house and left with almost $40,000 in valuables.

Six people were arrested this week and charged in connection with the robbery Monday of nearly $40,000 worth of valuables from a home on Valley Drive.

said a 70-year-old man allowed two men into the house to use his phone after they said their car had broken down. The two visitors then threatened and tied up the man and his wife with electrical cords and made off with items including a wedding ring valued at $26,000, a .45-caliber handgun and a white GMC Sierra.

The male victim told police the two men loaded up his safe and drove off in his truck.
