4th Arrest in String of Cartersville Burglaries, Auto Break-Ins

He is charged with burglary, stealing a car and other alleged crimes.

A fourth person has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries and car break-ins Thursday in Cartersville and Bartow County, Cartersville Police Department Chief Thomas "Tommy" Culpepper said in a Friday press release. 

The fourth suspect in the burglaries of at least seven local businesses, several auto burglaries and the theft of a car is Christopher Vann.

“This arrest, as well as those made yesterday, appear to have solved several burglaries and entering autos that have occurred not just yesterday, but also in recent months,” Culpepper said in the release.

According to the Bartow County jail, the four arrested and their initial charges were:

  • Alex Stephen Durley, 25, of 12 Brandon Ridge Road, Cartersville—Burglary;
  • Jeffrey Alan Lee, 25, of 113-B Johnson Drive, Cartersville—Buglary, first-degree forgery and a bondsman came off Lee's bond on a Dec. 7 charge. 
  • Santanna Courtney Poppell, 17, of 113 Johnson Drive, Cartersville—Burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle and a bondsman came of Poppell's bonds on Feb. 9 and Nov. 14 charges.
  • Christopher Michael Vann, 30, of 113 Johnson Street, Lot A, Cartersville—Burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle, obstruction of an officer and probation violation. 

The four are each residents of Bartow County and the investigation is continuing, according to Cartersville police.
