Arrested: 3 Fugitives in 1 Place, Due to Tip

In the arrests of three fugitives at one location, authorities are crediting one person who made one call reporting the whereabouts of one man.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release a tipster called Cartersville-Bartow County Crime Stoppers and said 45-year-old Jimmy Tyrone Beavers was staying in a building at 19 Dogwood Drive in Cartersville. 

deputies several weeks prior had tried to apprehend Beavers, a Cartersville resident wanted on a parole violation. He got away on foot that night, but wasn't as quick last night, according to authorities.

Following the tipster's call to 770-606-TIPS, officers found Beavers, who allegedly grabbed a wooden stick and held it in an offensive manner. He was Tased and arrested.

Beavers was released from a Spalding County correctional institute five days before Christmas, having been convicted of theft and methamphetamine crimes in Bartow, Floyd and Cherokee counties, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Two others in the building with him also went to jail on outstanding warrants.

Stephanie Dawn Tate, 26, of Adairsville, had two oustanding warrants and charges for alleged thefts, while Douglas Jerome Dodd, 48, of Cartersville, was wanted on a probation violation warrant.

The tipster is eligible for a cash reward, which will be determined when Crime Stoppers' governing board of citizen volunteers reviews the case.
