2 Passengers Killed in U.S. 411 Crash
One vehicle was involved in the crash that shut down Highway 411 outside Cartersville. The driver was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital.

Authorities this morning released the identities of the three people involved in the crash.
Passengers Molly Barnes, 54, and Christopher Barnes, 22, both of Gaylesville, AL, were killed. The driver, James Lee Barnes, 58, also of Gaylesville, suffered a head injury.

A crash that closed U.S. 411 in Kingston killed two people, both passengers in a Chevrolet Trailblazer that was the only vehicle involved in the crash, spokesman Gordy Wright said tonight in an email.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Trailblazer, which was traveling westbound near Rogers Cut Off Road, left the roadway about 6:45 p.m., went down a steep embankment and hit several trees.
authorities said about 8 p.m. all lanes of Highway 411 toward Rome would be closed for two hours to allow an air ambulance to land.
Wright said the driver was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Authorities have not yet identified the victims, including the driver, charges against whom are pending.
GSP's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team based in Calhoun will conduct a follow-up investigation, Wright said.
