1 Killed in Cartersville Teen's Crash

The 19-year-old driver ran off Bells Ferry Road and hit a utility pole and an embankment.

A man from White was killed early today when a car driven by a Cartersville teenager crashed.

Deltisha Moore, 19, was driving a 2001 Infiniti I30 north on Bells Ferry Road about two miles north of Georgia Highway 20 around 1:05 a.m. when the car ran onto the right shoulder, spokesman Gordy Wright said.

The Infiniti hit a utility pole and an embankment.

Moore’s passenger, Lee Ingram Chung, 25, was thrown from the car when it hit the utility pole, and he also slammed into the pole, Wright said.

Chung was not wearing a seat belt, according to the state trooper's report. Moore did wear her seat belt and benefited from an air bag deploying.

Chung was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome and then to Erlanger in Chattanooga, where he died. Wright said the Georgia State Patrol was notified of his death about 5:30 a.m.

No charges have been filed against Moore, who was taken to to be checked out and treated for any injuries.
