Updated: Emerson Woman Killed, Man Injured in Cartersville Crash
An Emerson man, who was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital, lost control of his truck in a curve on GA Highway 293 at Old River Road in Bartow County, Georgia State Patrol authorities say.

Wright said the driver of a 1999 Ford Super Duty truck, identified as Christopher Edward Lary, 43, of Emerson, lost control of the vehicle in a curve on Highway 293 about 10:30 Wednesday night. The vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, overturned and hit a tree.
Christopher Edward Lary was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment of his injuries. Elizabeth Mary Lary, 33, also of Emerson was killed in the crash.

Spokesman Gordy Wright said one vehicle was involved in the accident at GA Highway 293 and Old River Road in Bartow County.
The surviving victim was airlifted for medical treatment after the vehicle appeared to have traveled down an embankment, Bartow County Scanner reports.
