Bartow Women With A Mission

A newly born nonprofit organization has helped over 50 families and are now aiming to help Bartow residents celebrate the holidays.

After witnessing how many citizens of Cartersville were in need of food and toys during the holiday season, four women set out to make a difference. Calling themselves Bartow Women With a Mission (B.W.W.M.), Kelly Pittard Hampton, Brenda Johnson, Danielle Love, and Laurie McCarley made it their job to tackle such a big issue. Cleverly using Facebook to launch their organization, B.W.W.M. has taken in so many donations of clothing and toys that they are quickly running out of space to store it all. Using donations alone, they were able to help several victims who lost their home in a fire, the Homeless Shelter, and over fifty other families. Children now have beds and toys, parents have warm coats and decent shoes for work, and most of all we are able to witness why Cartersville still has such a small town feel to it. Rising to the challenge, you donated, you volunteered, and you helped these women turn a small idea into a thriving community asset.

After the success of their Valentine’s Day party, where families were encouraged to bring their kids and indulge in donated sweets, the group is now poised to make Easter just as special. New Covenant Church (across from the Hospital on 41) plays host to the holiday activities. From 2:00 pm to 4 pm on March 31, there will be an Easter egg hunt, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, and the raffling of large baskets filled with goodies. You can also purchase deliciously scented candles and find the perfect prom dress for your daughter at the silent auction.

B.W.W.M. is located at the following link and I encourage you to donate or seek help there if you need it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BWWM.email/

Currently, B.W.W.M. is trying to find a storage facility that is willing to donate space or charge a nominal fee. Because all the money that goes into the organization goes right back out, the women are paying storage fees out of their own pockets. They also need storage bins, shelving units, and anything else they can organize their donations with. If you would like to help them, please contact Kelly at 678-372-2865.
