Cartersville Christmas Parade Set for Thursday, Dec. 5

In addition to an appearance by Santa Claus, more than 100 floats, marching bands, fire trucks, horses and antique cars will be featured.

Cartersville this week will be host to the largest Christmas parade in northwest Georgia as the annual Cartersville Exchange Club Christmas Parade winds through its streets on Dec. 5.  More than 100 floats, marching bands, fire trucks, horses and antique cars will be featured and a special appearance by Santa Claus is guaranteed.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. from the Tabernacle Baptist Church and will cross the Church Street Bridge, go past the courthouse before turning down Main Street.

It will be lead off by members of the Exchange Club in the “Bucket Brigade” collecting donations from spectators. The Bucket Brigade will be giving out glow bands for a $1 donation per band. The money raised from entry fees and the Bucket Brigade will be donated to two children-related charities in Bartow County.
