Cartersville Christmas Parade Raises $10,000

In addition to the money raised, the parade entry numbers surpassed last year's entries with 103 floats and vehicles.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release issued by the Cartersville Bartow Exchange Club.

It was a cold night for the Cartersville Bartow Exchange Club Christmas parade but that didn’t keep the crowds from coming out to enjoy the event.

The parade entry numbers surpassed last year’s entries with 103 floats and vehicles making up the parade. The organization raised more than $10,000 from registration fees along with the efforts of the Bucket Brigade, which leads off the parade. Proceeds benefit four local children’s charities including Boys and Girls Club, Advocates for Children, Etowah Scholarship Foundation and Bartow Christmas Coalition.

The Jingle Jog had 25 runners to brace the cold that also benefited Advocates for Children.

Floats and vehicles are judged prior to the beginning of the parade.

Winners include:

  • Commercial Float: Shaw Plant 94
  • Commercial Vehicle: Argos
  • Commercial Vehicle: Argos
  • Non-Commercial Float: Bartow Christmas Coalition
  • Non-Commercial Vehicle: Distinguished Young Women

The Cartersville Bartow County Exchange Club’s mission is to create greater public awareness of the seriousness of child abuse and what can be done to prevent it by partnering with like-minded organizations and to make our community a better place to live.
